Sound out letters to spell and say words 3. Rhyme words that have the same ending sounds 4 . Choose and select beginning and ending sounds in words..

Provide specific details of the assessment here. The intended students should be able to read and know exactly what is being required of them. The  students will be given practice with completing similar assessment then on their own so that they are familiar with the platform used which would be  Blooket . ( Love this platform for the younger students, good choice ).   Ten questions would be asked to the students using short answers, multiple choices, matching questions and fill in the blank. The students phonemic, rhyming and decoding skills will be assessed.  The students will be able to recall how many sounds are in  a word, look at a picture and visualize the word by sounding and blending words to name a picture and spell words by inserting  first letters and last letters. The students listening skills would be assessed as well so that they listen to the instructions given via the read aloud.

The  steps I took to ensure that students will be able to complete the assignment quiz are: The students will be given previous similar assessment s  for practice so they are familiar with the way the assessment is completed. The students will be given two chances in completing the assessment. ( This form of motivation is definitely needed in the classroom, students need to know that their teachers understand that it’s okay to make mistakes ) They will be informed about the process that the assessment will take and they will be informed of the practice link that would be sent 2 days prior the assessment. The students will all log into the quiz assessment at the same time during class time.

Steps taken in Designing the Online Assessment

State the percentage / weighting of the assessment and its’ contribution to the overall course grade.   This assessment would not be graded  (formative assessment).

The  students will need access to: ·       Learning management system (LMS) which is a software application used to plan, implement and assesses a specific learning process.  This LMS will be controlled by the Ministry of Education.  In this way I will be able to deliver my content  to my Grade 1  students using this platform. ·       Their personal tablets or access to a tablet or computer device. ·       Internet connectivity (WIFI) ·       Log code and password to log into Microsoft Teams

Exceptional Satisfactory Limited Engagement The student completion  of   the quiz reflect engagement with the questions  asked. Moderate engagement as  few answers were answered incorrectly. No evidence of students grasping the concept taught in class. Use of Phonemic and Phonics skills Phonemic awareness and phonic skills were present in each selection of assessment answers. Phonemic awareness and phonic skills were moderately  demonstrated  through the selection of the assessment answers. Phonemic awareness and phonics skills were not demonstration due to lack of correct answers selected for the assessment questions. Reflection
