[Audio] Rani Lakshmi Bai Rani Lakshmi Bai born in 19 November 1828 In her confrontation with the British she was a sign of courage patriotism self-respect perseverance and generosity. The Rani of Jhansi was a pivotal figure in the Indian Revolt of 1857. At the age of 14 she was married to the Maharaja of Jhansi Gangadhar Rao in 1842. After her marriage she was called Laxmibai. Rani Lakshmi Bai’s son Damodar Rao was born in 1851. But he died after four months. Gangadhar Rao died in 1853. Before he died he had adopted his cousin’s son Annand Rao who was renamed Deodar Rao. Rani Laxmibai died while fighting in Gwalior on 18th June 1858 aged 23. She was dressed as a soldier when she died.
[Audio] Sorojini Naidu Sorojini Naidu born in 13 February 1879.in Hyderabad to Bengali parents Aghorenath Chattopdhyaya and Barad Sundari Devi Chattopadhyay. Her father administered the Nizam College in Hyderabad while her mother was a prolific writer in poetry Also known as the ‘Nightingale of India’. She was a distinguished poet renowned freedom fighter and a great orator. She was selected as the President of the Indian National Congress in 1925. She campaigned for the Khilafat (Indian Disobedience) Movement and also the Quit India Movement. She died of a cardiac arrest on 2 March 1949 at the Government House in Lucknow..
[Audio] Annie Besant Annie Besant born in 1 October 1847 Clapham Town London United Kingdom. She was an Irish lady and a prominent member of the Theosophical Society. She joined the Indian National Congress and was involved in political and educational activities in India. She was the first woman President of the Congress. In 1916 she established the Indian Home Rule Movement. She started a newspaper “New India.” She set up a number of schools and colleges including the Central Hindu College High School at Banaras (1913). She died on 20 September 1933 at age 85 in Adyar Madras Presidency..
[Audio] Droupadi Murmu Droupadi Murmu (née Dugi Biranchi Tudu; born 20 June 1958) is an Indian politician serving as 15th and current president of India since 2022. She won the 2022 presidential election as a candidate of the Bharatiya Janata Party. She is the first person belonging to the tribal community and also the second woman after Pratibha Patel to hold the office. She is also the youngest person to occupy the post (at 64) and the first president born in an independent India..
[Audio] Manu Bhaker Manu Bhaker born 18 February 2002) is an Indian sport shooter and Olympic medallist. She won two bronze medals at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. She secured a bronze in the women’s 10 metre air pistol event becoming the first female shooter from India to win a medal at any Olympics. Subsequently she earned another bronze medal in the mixed 10 metre air pistol team event becoming the first Indian woman to win two medals in a single Olympics..
