life is beautiful here no doubts in that, but people living here realize it when they get to see other places. but the way we see things are a bit different from others here, for example- rainy season in a hill station as seen by any tourist is pleasing but for people living there it can be a disaster on its way, as land slides are very frequent in rainy season and roads are the life line in hill station which get blocked due to debris and life stops here, in most of hills stations houses are not very much capable of handling water as construction is very difficult and expensive..

Types of problems. Hill Roads and their problems • What is Hill rod- The roads constructed in mountainous regions of a country are known as hill roads or ghat roads. These roads present great difficulty in their alignment, design, construction and maintenance. Curves, sharp bends, sleep gradients and limited width of roadway make hill roads more liable to accidents. Also the effects of heavy rainfall on the construction and maintenance of a hill road are serious. At many lcxations on the hil the land slides and slips may occur during heavy rainfall. Therefore, much care is needed during their layout and construction so as to provide a stable and safe road. Moreover, a large number of streams cross the road and hence a suitable facility for cross drainage is needed. The overall cost as well as cost per km length of a hill road is higher than that of a similar road in plains.

Conclusion • Hill roads are comparatively dangerous and a single fault can lead to death of the passengers and road users, hence maintaining and proper supervision should be encouraged so as to minimize the number of incident caused from road defects and problems. • Bridges are essential part of transportation it may be over a valley or river ,this also carry a large number of lives and can be dangerous if any of its components get damaged or failed to work to ensure less incidents it must be kept maintained and in its best service condtion..
