LOCK & KEY A LOTO padlock should only have one key. The worker who locks the isolated power sources holds the key for the lock, ensuring that only they can remove the lock and start the equipment. One person, One lock, One key practice should be preferred PLACARD LOTO safety placards are used to inform workers and visitors of the hazards associated with specific machinery or equipment and to remind them of the procedures that must be followed to ensure their safety. These placards are signs or posters that are displayed in prominent areas, such as near machinery or equipment, to provide visual reminders of the importance of LOTO.
