[Virtual Presenter] I am Abdul Kareem Ghazal, a ninth grade student from Al Shoala School in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. I am passionately devoted to being a part of COP 28 and other initiatives to assist in reaching zero carbon dioxide emissions. Since I was younger, I have strongly believed in the value of tree planting and consciously taking into account how to utilize resources, in alignment with the vision of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan, may God have mercy on him, who was renowned for his regard and concern for the environment. I am honoured to be a part of the Net Zero Heroes and I am steadfast in doing all that is within my power to contribute to creating a better future for my country and the global population..
[Audio] My story starts with Abdul Kareem Ghazal, a ninth grader from Al Shoala School in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, who is a champion for the environment and is committed to participating in COP 28 and initiatives to achieve zero carbon dioxide emissions, inspired by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan, may God have mercy on him. To make an impact on the world, Abdul joined the Voices of Future Generations initiative and worked hard on spreading awareness of the sustainable development goals. His hard work paid off and he was rewarded with the Silver Medal in 2020 for writing a story called Be Mindfull that promotes the use of an application called be mindfull that alerts you when you take an action that may harm the environment. Additionally, Abdul was able to secure a bronze medal in 2022 for writing another story called “Look Inside”. This story was inspired by his participation in the Opportunities Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai and it encourages us to look within ourselves and change our habits for the betterment of our lives and the environment. Abdul's success is a strong statement that we can all make a difference when we volunteer our time and energy to causes we are truly passionate about..
[Audio] I have dedicated my time and efforts to preserve the environment, inspired by the example of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan, may God have mercy on him. I have been actively participating in various environmental activities such as COP 28 and initiatives to achieve zero carbon dioxide emissions. Recently, I have been involved in various activities. These include, participating in Expo Dubai 2020, activities at school, activities at Middle East Level with Bena Educational Academy, and helping the scientific laboratory in Sharjah invent a home hydroponic device that helps obtain healthy products, and get rid of carbon dioxide gas in the air. Furthermore, it also helps in saving water as the water circulates in the device and is used prudently. I am proud of my environmental achievements and I am hopeful it will make a difference..
[Audio] I am Abdul Kareem Ghazal, a ninth grader from Al Shoala School in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. I have been working to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and protect our planet. I am committed to raising awareness of the importance of sustainability through storytelling. Last year, I won a Silver Medal for my story "Be Mindful," which calls for the use of apps to alert us of environmental harm. In 2022, I earned a Bronze Medal for "Look Inside" which was inspired by Expo 2020 Dubai. I have taken part in several different environmental initiatives and recently I helped create a home hydroponic device. This device promotes healthy produce, reduces carbon dioxide and saves water, demonstrating that small actions can have a big impact..
[Audio] Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan, may God have mercy on him, understood the implications of climate change on people's health and wellbeing, particularly in the MENA region, which can suffer from water shortages, droughts, and more extreme weather events, with temperatures in the UAE rising to as high as 48 to 50 degrees Celsius in the summer. To protect the environment and its natural balance in the United Arab Emirates, he took advanced steps to address the issue..
[Audio] We have a responsibility as young people to protect our planet. One way to do this is to come together in cultural clubs and share unique and creative ideas about decreasing carbon dioxide emissions. For instance, what if we combined a number of bicycles and powered them with electricity created by pedaling? This could reduce the need for fossil fuels and promote the utilization of renewable resources with no carbon dioxide emissions. Abdul Kareem Ghazal from Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, is putting his efforts towards participating in COP28 and striving towards zero carbon dioxide emissions – let's join him in his cause..
[Audio] Abdul Kareem Ghazal is determined to make a difference and is participating in COP 28 and initiatives to achieve zero carbon dioxide emissions, to help make the world a greener, healthier place. He is being inspired by his leader Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan and their shared initiative of establishing cultural clubs, allowing young people from different backgrounds to come together to discuss innovative solutions to environmental challenges. One such innovative idea is creating a bikes bus; multiple bikes linked together to form a single bus, covered on the outside and powered by electricity generated from the kinetic energy produced while pedaling. This means no carbon dioxide emissions and the use of green energy. We should strive to be more like Abdul Kareem and Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan, and make a positive change for our future..
[Audio] Abdul Kareem Ghazal's inspiring story has been inspiring to witness, as he is passionate about contributing to reduce carbon dioxide emissions, inspired by the wise Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan. Young people from different backgrounds can get together to propose and exchange innovative ideas, such as the creation of bikes bus which would allow the usage of green energy and eliminate the need for burning of fossil fuels. This is a great way of working towards achieving zero carbon dioxide emissions. We appreciate your attention and being part of this journey towards environmental protection..
