[Audio] We will begin by looking at the following. One, Spinal Injury are common. Two, we should always suspect trauma patient to have brain injury. Three, it usually occurs in major trauma and lastly, are associated with significant head injury..

Are common Should always be suspected in the trauma patient Occur most  commonly in major trauma.  Are associated with a significant number of head injured patients.

[Audio] We should suspect Cervical spine injuries in patients who are unconscious or moribund, shows neurological findings, complains of neck pain and lastly, has constraints in moving the neck..

III. Cervical Spine Injuries 
should Always  be suspected

In a trauma patient who: is unconscious or moribund shows neurological findings complains of neck pain has restricted neck movements

Scene 4

The C-spine must be protected  All major trauma cases of any sort should have a collar  Cervical spinal injury can be ruled out “CLEARED” with a good x-ray.  Lacerations over the top of head, forehead or jaw should lead to a high index of suspicion for possible cervical spine injury.
