My name is Mrs. Tina McGhee and over the next four days, I am going to highlight some key rules from the Richmond County Student Code of Conduct and Discipline for the 2023-2024 school year. On the fifth day of the course, you will be given a quiz to demonstrate how well you have learn the rules and consequences . So let's begin!.

[Audio] What is the Student Code of Conduct? The Student Code of Conduct and Discipline is the Richmond County School System's behavioral expectations on how you should conduct yourself while at school, off school grounds, at a school activity, function or event and to and from school, including, but not limited to, the school bus and the school bus stop. The Student Code of Conduct also ensures that every student in every school will be provided with a safe and secure environment in which to pursue the excellent educational opportunities available..
[Audio] Rules and Character Traits At the front of the Code of Conduct and Discipline, students and parents can find a list of common rules and character traits that promote safe school evironments..
[Audio] Students' Responsibilities Show respect for school property and respect the property of others. Be truthful about and accountable for your actions. Make an effort to correct and improve unsafe behavior with the support of teachers and staff. Behave in a manner that contributes to a safe learning environment and which supports the rights of others to learn Meet the standards of behavior in the Code of Conduct and abide by it. Abide by and follow other school rules, regulations, and policies. Ensure the school is updated with accurate contact information including, but not limited to, home address, telephone number(s), and e-mail address(es) as well as free of weapons, illegal drugs, controlled substances and alcohol Attend school and receive a free and appropriate public education with equitable resources Demonstrate pride in self and academic endeavors by dressing appropriately for school and school functions.
[Audio] Notification about the Student Code of Conduct Georgia law requires school systems to notify students and their parents of student conduct policies: Each school year, students and their parents are given a copy of the Richmond County Student Code of Conduct approved by the local school board (if students enroll after the school year begins, they are given the Student Code of Conduct as part of their enrollment process). [Audio] Tribunal Code Violations Violations of the following Code of Conduct may result in an automatic Tribunal Hearing: Rule 1v – Terroristic threats Rule 1B – Bomb threat Rule 4A & 4B – Physical Assault on an employee of the school system, verbal assault and disruptive conduct, physical violence against teachers, school bus driver, or other school official or employees. Rule 5A – Physical Assault and/or Fighting with another student(s) Rule 5B – Bullying: It's the Law – 3 incidences of bullying. Rule 6 – Weapons and Dangerous Instruments Rule 7B 1&2 – Narcotics, Drugs and Controlled Substances Rule 8A & 8B – Illicit or Immoral Activities by a Student and Illicit or Immoral Activities by a Student Rule 20 – Chronic Disruptive Student.
