Common Target Games that are Played. Golf Frisbee A game in which a Frisbee is thrown into a metal basket Bowls A game in which a small ball called a ‘kitty’ is rolled on a field The aim of the game is to get the other balls as close to the small ball as possible Bean Bag Boccia A player throws a bean bag or ‘ pallinoi ’. Followed by a player of first team throwing a bean bag as close to the pallino as possible. Then second team throws and so on. The team with closest throws win Croquette It is game that is played on a lawn with along stick called a mallet. The mallet is used to hit balls throw hoops attached to the ground placed in a particular pattern.

Unusual Target Games. Curling Players (x4) slide stones across ice towards a target Archery Players (x1) use bows and arrows to shoot at a target Pool and Snooker Players (x2) use a cue (long stick) to shoot balls into six pockets. Golf Players (x 1 - 4 ) use golf clubs to hit a small golf ball towards a small hole at the end of a long golf course.

These days younger children are the ones spending more time on the playground playing target games. While older children are encouraged to play target games as part of the school curriculum which supports and promotes physical activity. The future of target games is questionable because of the large number of indoor and outdoor games that have been developed for children in this day and age.
