Introduce yourself. Ask them politely to confirm who they are and the name of their site escort. If the escort is not present, take them back to Reception through the main entrance and ask an Administrator to call the escort to collect the visitor from the reception area. Think, visitor or intruder…?.
An office worker is nipping across the yard from the admin office to get to the welfare building for a chocolate bar. They’re not wearing a Hi-Vis jacket. What do I do?.

Remind them that they must wear a Hi-Vis whist on site and in the yard. This is to keep them safe and that everyone is responsible for safety on site. Then, escort them to safety. Think, what if they got knocked over and you could have prevented it…!.
I’m crossing the warehouse to entering a controlled section. A manager is following me. She usually has her fob on her but says she’s left it on her desk. She’s demanded that I let her in to the section. What do I do?.
Buzz me in. I’ve left my fob at home.. I’m sorry but you know I can’t do that. It’s against company policy and I could get in to trouble.
Contracts with our customer and the Accreditations we hold dictate that security measures are in place and are always enforced without exception. Breach of any such security measures could mean the loss of these licences, the loss of business and ultimately jobs. Just because a member of staff had access yesterday, it does not mean they should still have access today. Think, is it worth losing your job…?.
