To put it simply, we are a service provider.. We provide a service to our customers carrying out tasks on their assets based upon their specific instructions.

Page 4 (41s)

How do we safeguard our job as service providers to customers?.

Page 5 (49s)

We put the necessary infrastructure in place to ensure that we are carrying out the customer requirements whilst meeting contractual obligations and industry guidelines.

Page 6 (1m 14s)

In other words, we provide a quality service to our customers by trying to mitigating any risk.

Page 7 (1m 38s)

We call this a quality culture – nurturing an environment where people genuinely care about their work, their workplace and the team that they are working with and for.

So, who’s responsible for quality control?. STA056 Embracing a Quality Culture Presentation located at \\drs-fs-02\admin\Office Templates\Controlled Documents. Once printed, this document is not controlled.

Page 17 (3m 38s)

The answer is YOU! It’s everyone’s responsibility to promote and maintain best practices on site – quality, health and safety.

Page 18 (3m 48s)

This is why we invest so much time in training!. STA056 Embracing a Quality Culture Presentation located at \\drs-fs-02\admin\Office Templates\Controlled Documents. Once printed, this document is not controlled.

Let’s try a few scenarios…. STA056 Embracing a Quality Culture Presentation located at \\drs-fs-02\admin\Office Templates\Controlled Documents. Once printed, this document is not controlled.

Page 22 (4m 19s)

You are working with your colleague in check-in. Our colleague is digging through the pallet to find like-for-like assets for processing but is throwing assets to the side to get to them. What do I do?.

Page 23 (4m 33s)

Stop! What are you doing? You’ll damage the assets! This is not in-line with our training and procedures!.

Page 24 (5m 1s)

Yes, it’s an awkward situation but these assets do not belong to us. Unless you are working in destruction handling assets authorised for disposal by the customer, we must treat the asset as something of value. Any damages are a claim against us for mishandling the customer’s stock. Think, would you be willing to pay for any breakages…? Would you be happy is Amazon treated your goods that way?.

Page 25 (5m 22s)

There’s a new person in the warehouse. He looks important. He has a Hi-Vis, a clipboard and he’s wearing a suit but my line manager has not made me aware of any visitors due and the new person is not being escorted. My line manager is not here to ask. What do I do?.

Page 26 (5m 39s)

Hello. My name is Alun and I work in this section. You don’t look familiar to me. Can you confirm your name and who you are here to see, please?.

Page 27 (6m 11s)

Introduce yourself. Ask them politely to confirm who they are and the name of their site escort. If the escort is not present, take them back to Reception through the main entrance and ask an Administrator to call the escort to collect the visitor from the reception area. Think, visitor or intruder…?.

Page 28 (6m 28s)

An office worker is nipping across the yard from the admin office to get to the welfare building for a chocolate bar. They’re not wearing a Hi-Vis jacket. What do I do?.

Page 29 (6m 41s)

Stop! Are you being safe! Where’s your Hi-Vis?. I’m just nipping, I’ll only be a sec! It’s been a long day and I need some sugar!.

Page 30 (7m 8s)

Remind them that they must wear a Hi-Vis whist on site and in the yard. This is to keep them safe and that everyone is responsible for safety on site. Then, escort them to safety. Think, what if they got knocked over and you could have prevented it…!.

Page 31 (7m 25s)

I’m crossing the warehouse to entering a controlled section. A manager is following me. She usually has her fob on her but says she’s left it on her desk. She’s demanded that I let her in to the section. What do I do?.

Page 32 (7m 40s)

Buzz me in. I’ve left my fob at home.. I’m sorry but you know I can’t do that. It’s against company policy and I could get in to trouble.

Page 33 (8m 7s)

Contracts with our customer and the Accreditations we hold dictate that security measures are in place and are always enforced without exception. Breach of any such security measures could mean the loss of these licences, the loss of business and ultimately jobs. Just because a member of staff had access yesterday, it does not mean they should still have access today. Think, is it worth losing your job…?.

Page 34 (8m 28s)

OK, yes, Alun might come across as a bit of a pain in these scenarios but….
