Kerala lies between the Arabian Sea in the West and the Western Ghats ( Sahyadris ) in the East with an area of 38863  sq  km. It is one of the five states in the linguistic-cultural area known as South India. The  neighbouring  states of Kerala are Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM,  commonly known by its former name  Trivandrum, is  the capital of the Indian state of Kerala. It is the most populous city in  Kerala.  Located  on the west coast of India near the extreme south of the mainland, Thiruvananthapuram is a major information technology hub in Kerala and contributes 55% of the state's software  exports.

Kerala, which lies in the tropic region, is mostly subject to the type of humid tropical wet climate experienced by most of Earth's rainforests. Meanwhile, its extreme eastern fringes experience a drier tropical wet and dry climate. ... Kerala's average maximum daily temperature is around 37 °C; the minimum is 19.8 °C.

Many crops like rice, coconut, tea, rubber, coffee, pepper,  cardamon ,  cashew, areca nut, nutmeg, ginger, cinnamon, cloves  etc  give the agriculture of Kerala its diverse  nature.  The  spices cultivated in Kerala are Black Pepper, Cardamom, Ginger, Turmeric, Nutmeg, Cinnamon, Clove,  Garcinia , Vanilla to mention a few. Spices from Kerala are popular all around the world for its aroma and  flavour .

Scene 8

There  are a number of popular wildlife sanctuaries in Kerala housing exotic and rare species of flora and fauna. Nestled in the elaborate forest of the majestic Western Ghats or  Sahyadri  Ranges in Kerala are  fourteen wildlife sanctuaries and two tiger reserves. Kerala also has six national parks containing protected and endangered species like the Indian Sloth-Bear, Lion-Tailed Macaque, Indian Bison, Bengal Tiger,  Nilgiri   Tahr  etc.
