To test the feasibility of a structured course focused on contents related to brain health, ageing and dementia to be delivered to teachers from fundamental schools in Brazil..

To test the feasibility of a structured course focused on contents related to brain health, ageing and dementia to be delivered to teachers from fundamental schools in Brazil.

To introduce tools to make the didactic transposition, allowing teachers to incorporate the content into their classes in the school setting.

To develop a didactic material based on the content produced in the course.

Methods - Pilot structure. Online course (5 modules), free of charge and hosted on an specific website created for this project.

Offered to teachers from the late years of fundamental schools (children from 11 to 14 y. o.)

The course will be certified (UFSCar) for those who fulfil at least 80% of the activities (30h for career promotion/progression)

Students from Gerontology and Pedagogy courses will help to provide contents and tools

A didactic material will be produced in collaboration with mentors, researchers and teachers

Sciences Module 1 Explore how the brain works and develop a biology science fair project.

Module 2 Physical Education Learn how exercise can help to reduce risk of age-related diseases English  Understand key concepts and vocabulary on brain health, ageing and dementia Arts Hold a performance about ageing, brain health or dementia; learn about how music can help with memory recollection Portuguese Run a writing competition based on life story books; explore literature that features a person living with dementia
