Backup  and Restore gives customers the tools to create and restore comprehensive backups with just a few clicks, all within  Salesforce , rather than waiting weeks for a .  csv  file that then requires days to re-load . O ur  Salesforce   organization  can generate backup files of your data on a weekly or monthly basis depending on your edition. You can export all your  org's  data into a set of comma-separated values (CSV) files . This week at  Dreamforce ,  Salesforce  announced Backup and Restore, a new data recovery service native to  Salesforce  Platform. Built with ease of use in mind, Backup and Restore automatically creates backup copies of business data, empowering any organization to restore data and recover, in just a few clicks, from even worst-case scenarios.  In  the age of remote work, business data is more dispersed than ever, touching every corner of our digital HQs and home offices. As companies double down in the pursuit of digital transformation, it’s created a renewed focus on mitigating data loss caused by system failures, human error, and  cyber attacks .

What is  import data  Salesforce ? Import data  lets  you upload data from external sources and combine it with data you collect via Analytics. You can then use Analytics to organize and analyze all of your data in ways that better reflect your  business. Salesforce  offers two main methods for importing  data.   Data  Import Wizard —this tool, accessible through the Setup menu, lets you import data in common standard objects, such as contacts, leads, accounts, as well as data in custom objects. It can import up to 50,000 records at a time. It provides a simple interface to specify the configuration parameters, data sources, and the field mappings that map the field names in your import file with the field names in  Salesforce . Data  Loader —this is a client application that can import up to five million records at a time, of any data type, either from files or a database connection. It can be operated either through the user interface or the command line. In the latter case, you need to specify data sources, field mappings, and other parameters via configuration files. This makes it possible to automate the import process, using API calls.

How  do  I  import  data from  Salesforce ? Go  over your object tab in your  Salesforce   instance C lick  on 'Import' for starting the import.  Choose  which object type you wish to import or update.  Choose  whether you want to import new records, update existing records, or do both at the same time.  Choose  the CSV file you wish to use for the import or update.

What is  export data in  Salesforce ? Exporting  data means creating a copy, extracting, and syncing your data from  Salesforce  into another format and app, such as exporting a  Salesforce  report to a spreadsheet file in CSV format . Salesforce  offers two main methods for exporting  data: Data Export Service: —  An in-browser service, accessible through the Setup menu. It allows you to export data manually once every 7 days (for weekly export) or 29 days (for monthly export). You can also export data automatically at weekly or monthly intervals. Weekly exports are available in Enterprise, Performance, and Unlimited Editions. In Professional Edition and Developer Edition, you can generate backup files only every 29 days, or automatically at monthly intervals only.  Data  Loader —  A   client application that you must install separately. It can be operated either through the user interface or the command line. The latter option is useful if you want to automate the export process, or use APIs to integrate with another system

EXPORT DATA. How do I export data from Salesforce ? Follow these steps to export data using the Data Export Service . From Setup, enter Data Export in the Quick Find box, then select Data Export and Export Now or Schedule Export . The Export Now option prepares your files for export immediately. This option is only available if enough time has passed since your last export . The Schedule Export option allows you to schedule the export process for weekly or monthly intervals . Select the desired encoding for your export file . If you want images, documents, attachments, and so on included in your data, select the appropriate options . Select Replace carriage returns with spaces to have spaces instead of carriage returns or line breaks in your export files. This is useful if you plan to use your export files for importing or other integrations..
