1872-1921 : India’s population increased by 60 million.. 

Scene 2

1872-1921      :  India’s population increased by 60 million.

1921-1971       :  India’s population increased by 296 million

1976              :  Population increased by 13 million per year. Food

standard of living, National population policy for Family Planning

1980              :   Lower population growth, lower death rate, higher standard of

1990              :   Decrease in birth rate still lower death rate, increase in longevity,

2000             :   Better population control predicted, economic prosperity indicated.

This statistics was submitted by Prof. Manoharan on 1 January, 2001.

Ans.         Professor Manoharan submitted the statistics of the rapidly increasing the population on January 1, 2001. He wanted to allow attention about the problems that will be creased by over population.

The population of India increased by 60 million between 1872-1921. There was an expected growth of population within 50 years. India’s populations increased by 296  million between  1921-1971. after it population increased by 13 million per year since 1976. It resulted  food scarcity, high death rate due to malnutrition, low standard of living. Our country introduced launched a policy for family planning.

In 1980 there was lower population growth and death rate also lowered due to good medical care. It resulted in the increase in longevity of life. The standard of living become still higher than before..
