[Audio] A. WHAT IS AI ? Artificial Intelligence refers to the intelligence of machines. This is in contrast to the natural intelligence of humans and animals. With Artificial Intelligence, machines perform functions such as learning, planning, reasoning and problem-solving. Most noteworthy, Artificial Intelligence is the simulation of human intelligence by machines. It is probably the fastest-growing development in the World of technology and innovation. Furthermore, many experts believe AI could solve major challenges and crisis situations. 11-Dec-23 N.Yathursan ( REG 599 ) 3.

[Audio] AI IN TRANSPORTATION Transportation is one industry that is certainly teed up to be drastically changed by AI. Self-driving cars and AI travel planners are just a couple of facets of how we get from point A to point B that will be influenced by AI. Even though autonomous vehicles are far from perfect, they will one day ferry us from place to place. AI IN MANUFACTURING Manufacturing has been benefiting from AI for years. With AI-enabled robotic arms and other manufacturing bots dating back to the 1960s and 1970s, the industry has adapted well to the powers of AI. These industrial robots typically work alongside humans to perform a limited range of tasks like assembly and stacking, and predictive analysis sensors keep equipment running smoothly. 11-Dec-23 N.Yathursan ( REG 599 ) 8.

[Audio] AI IN HEALTHCARE It may seem unlikely, but AI healthcare is already changing the way humans interact with medical providers. Thanks to its big data analysis capabilities, AI helps identify diseases more quickly and accurately, speed up and streamline drug discovery and even monitor patients through virtual nursing assistants. AI IN EDUCATION AI in education will change the way humans of all ages learn. AI's use of machine learning, natural language processing and facial recognition help digitize textbooks, detect plagiarism and gauge the emotions of students to help determine who's struggling or bored. Both presently and in the future, AI tailors the experience of learning to student's individual needs. 11-Dec-23 N.Yathursan ( REG 599 ) 9.

[Audio] AI IN MEDIA Journalism is harnessing AI too, and will continue to benefit from it. One example can be seen in The Associated Press' use of Automated Insights, which produces thousands of earning reports stories per year. But as generative AI writing tools, such as ChatGPT, enter the market, questions about their use in journalism abound. AI IN CUSTOMER SERVICE Most people dread getting a robo-call, but AI in customer service can provide the industry with data-driven tools that bring meaningful insights to both the customer and the provider. AI tools powering the customer service industry come in the form of chatbots and virtual assistants. 11-Dec-23 N.Yathursan ( REG 599 ) 10.

[Audio] G. AR WITH AI ➢Augmented Reality (AR) is an augmented depiction of reality formed by overlaying digital information on an image of objects being seen through a device. Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques have experienced unprecedented growth and are being applied in various industries. The combination of AR and AI is the next prominent direction in upcoming years with many industries and academia recognizing the importance of their adoption. With the advancements in the silicone industry that push the boundaries of Moore's law, processors will be less expensive, more efficient, and power-optimized in the forthcoming years. This is a tremendous support and necessity for an AR boom, and with the help of AI, there is an excellent potential for smart industries to increase the production speed and workforce training along with improved manufacturing, error handling, assembly, and packaging. 11-Dec-23 N.Yathursan ( REG 599 ) 12.

[Audio] H. WHEN AI OVERCOME HUMAN PERFORMANCE ? ✓Advances in artificial intelligence (AI) will transform modern life by reshaping transportation, health, science, finance, and the military. To adapt public policy, we need to better anticipate these advances. Here we report the results from a large survey of machine learning researchers on their beliefs about progress in AI. Researchers predict AI will outperform humans in many activities in the next ten years, such as translating languages (by 2024), writing high-school essays (by 2026), driving a truck (by 2027), working in retail (by 2031), writing a bestselling book (by 2049), and working as a surgeon (by 2053). Researchers believe there is a 50% chance of AI outperforming humans in all tasks in 45 years and of automating all human jobs in 120 years, with Asian respondents expecting these dates much sooner than North Americans. These results will inform discussion amongst researchers and policymakers about anticipating and managing trends in AI. 11-Dec-23 N.Yathursan ( REG 599 ) 13.
