[Audio] Ferns are leafy vascular plants (plants with root system). While they have veins that permit the flow of water and nutrients like conifers and flowering plants, their life cycle is very different. Conifers and flowering plants evolved to survive hostile, dry conditions. Ferns require water for sexual reproduction. Ferns don't have seeds or flowers. They reproduce using spores..

[Audio] Mosses are phylum of non-vascular plants (plants without root system). They reproduce spores for reproduction instead of seeds and don't grow flowers, wood or true roots. instead of roots, all species of moss have rhizoids (small ' hair like structures whose main function is anchoring the plant to the ground, rock or bark.). They form male structure (at the top of the plant) known as antheridia (antheridium singular) produces the sperm cells. The female structure is known as archegonia (archegonium-singular) which produces the egg cells and is where spore stem forms..
