[Audio] Good Morning I will be presenting to you my life mission and goals, and what are the strategies to achieve my goals, my competency development plan, career paths and my timeframe.

[Audio] To begin with Mission and Goals My life mission that I want to achieve after graduation is to contribute to my country in combating climate change Through education, advocacy, sustainable practices and community involvement. I have three specific goals that aligned with my life mission and these are Encouraging the young generation to be resilient as they are custodians of this earth, ensuring a safe place for their Future to be secured from climate change. To establish or to offer support to youth led initiatives focus in combating the effect of climate change. To be a resilient, encourage the youth to voice their concerns through awareness campaign Promoting sustainable practices.

[Audio] It is important to talk about what I should do or what are my strategies to achieve my life mission and goals. It is straight forward as you can see from the flow diagram My first approach is to learn continuously, it is to acquire new skills and knowledge that can help me to achieve my goals making use of my studies in KGU to learn more about Environmental issues. Stay open to learning from different sources and experiences especially from specialized agencies such as United Nations Environment Programs or other Non Governmental Organization Environmental Programs Second one is to seek support and accountability by joining groups or communities with similar interest so it could be effective in establishing network and build relationship with accountable partners aiming for the same goals To stay committed and motivated and to be flexible and adaptable in every situation encountered.

[Audio] My development plan There are some competencies that I think it is very important for me to improve and overcome These challenges are communication skills, self confidence, professionalism and creativity To overcome and improve these challenges these are some of the best ways to do First, Seeking opportunities to practice and improve public speaking and presentation skills. Second, Engaging in self-improvement activities and seeking feedback to build a stronger self-image. Third, Develop a checklist of professional standards to self-monitor your performance Last but not least, Regularly seek feedback from supervisors and colleagues and join a mentorship program to learn from experienced professionals.

[Audio] Moving on to my next agenda, is about my career path I divide my career path into three categories, and these are short term, medium term and long term. My short term career path To focus in learning and gaining insightful knowledge about climate change while im currently doing my studies in KGU to grasp as many as possible before Graduation, also I have an internship at UNICEF for Climate change and Environmental I will use this opportunity to learn more about the current situation happening in real life and how to tackle them. My medium term career path This is aligned with my life mission which I want to contribute more my work in the area that I am passionate about it, I want to engage myself for volunteerism work locally at NGOs, or UN agencies for personal capacity building so I could be apply for positions at the international level dealing with more complex issues. I also see myself that if I am lucky enough to have positions such as UN YPP or JPP then I want to hold more senior positions. My long term career path. I want to be someone in Kiribati who established active body to fight against climate. But this all easily to be happen when you are a politician so that is another part of my plan I just want to be a politician in the future so all of this life mission and goals will be achieved..

[Audio] Coming to the last part of my presentation. How I will plan and allocate my remaining years to achieve my ambitious goals Starting from this year as you see from the left I am now focusing on completing my Masters until next year After graduation, I will be 30 years old so I plan to spend 3 years serve my government for my current position After that, by the age thirty four to thirty six, that how I plan to start working in my life mission, joining groups or established bodies that focus on environmental related issues. By that time I will look for job opportunities and I do hope that before reaching the age of thirty six I will have a secure job either NGOs or UN agencies locally or internationally. I like to spend most my time working there before reaching fifty. At the age of fifty one to sixty I want to go back again to work serving Kiribati government but only in the area related to environmental issues If I am reaching sixty I will retire and enjoy the rest of my life and I do hope that everything I have done in my life have an impact to my society, community and country Kiribati.
