[Virtual Presenter] Objective: Each group will select a theme and create a magazine section where each member writes at least one paragraph (minimum 8 sentences) on the selected theme. Project Steps and Timeline Week 1: Planning and Theme Selection Group Formation: Form groups of 5-7 students. Exchange contact information and decide on a group leader. Theme Selection: Brainstorm possible themes with your group (for example Travel Food Technology Culture Hobbies). Decide on a theme that interests everyone in the group. See the file Suggested Themes. Topic Assignment: Assign specific topics related to the theme to each group member. Ensure each topic is distinct and provides a different perspective on the theme. Week 2: Research and Writing Research: Each group member researches their assigned topic. Gather information from reliable sources (books articles websites) and take notes. Writing: Write a paragraph (minimum 8 sentences) about your topic. Ensure your paragraph is clear informative and engaging. Use the following structure (more details on page ?): Topic Sentence: Introduce the main idea. Supporting Sentences: Provide details examples and explanations. Concluding Sentence: Summarize the main point and connect it to the theme. First Draft: Share your paragraph with your group for initial feedback. Provide constructive feedback on each other's work. Weeks 3-4: Editing and Design Editing: Revise your paragraph based on group feedback. Check for grammar spelling punctuation and clarity. Group Compilation: Compile all paragraphs into one cohesive section. Ensure there is a logical flow between the paragraphs. Design: Design your section using digital tools (for example PowerPoint Presentation Word Doc Canva Adobe Spark). Include relevant images captions and a title for your section. Make sure the design is visually appealing and easy to read. Make any final edits before submitting the final drafts Weeks 12 & 13: Presentation and Reflection Group Presentation (10 Points) Prepare a brief presentation of your section. Each group member should present their part. Be creative in your presentation (for example role-playing visuals). Write a short reflection on your experience (for example what you learned challenges faced). Magazine Layout Here’s a detailed layout of suitable pages and content for the magazine. See sample 1 & sample 2 for more details. Cover Page Title: The name of the magazine or the theme of the issue. Subtitle: A brief description or tagline related to the theme. Images: Eye-catching visuals or graphics that relate to the theme. Date/Issue Number: The publication date or issue number. Contributors and Table of Contents Contributors: the names of the group members/ content writers Sections and Page Numbers: List the main sections with their corresponding page numbers for easy navigation. Design: Include visuals or icons to make the table of contents visually appealing. Welcome Note Introduction: A brief note introducing the magazine and its theme Purpose: Explain the aim of the magazine and what readers can expect. Feature paragraphs Paragraph Title: Each feature paragraph should have a clear and engaging title. Content: Well-written paragraphs on specific topics related to the theme with at least one paragraph per group member. Images: Relevant images or graphics to support and enhance the text.
