%%BLACK MALE% Hello, I am Carter Woodson and I am the Father of Black History Month. As I was growing up in the United States, I noticed that many people from black communities didn't know much about their heritage. This led me to founding the Association for the Study of Negro Life and History (which eventually shifted from celebrating Negro History week to celebrating Black History month), so that I and others could help educate communities on the achievements of black Americans. Today, it has grown so large that people across the world, from all walks of life, are being educated on the achievements of black people throughout human history. For a long time they were nameless and faceless, now, they are starting to get the recognition they deserve..

%%YOUNG BLACK MALE% What's happening guys. I want to talk to you about Black history as it is now the month dedicated to celebrating the accomplishments of black people throughout the world. For me, it's very important to know the history of my ancestors and the accomplishments of black people throughout history. Growing up a young black man in London, I never got taught about the impact black people have had on the history of the world and particularly on Britain. There are a few people who have rightly been elevated to such importance that when we speak of black people standing up and changing history, they are the first names everyone thinks of. I am talking about Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks, Mary Seacole, Malcolm X, etcetera. But, how many of you know of Harriet Tubman and the 70 slaves she rescued using the "Underground Railroad"? What about Katherine Johnson? Without her extraordinary mathematical abilities, NASA would never have been able to calculate trajectories, launch windows, and emergency return paths for spaceflights. Or of Frederick McKinley Jones? Who without his ideas and knowledge, we would not have refrigeration vehicles that deliver food, medicines and blood..

%%Old Man% Did you know that black people have been in Britain for a lot longer than originally thought. I am "Cheddar man" as i was found in Goughs cave in Cheddar Gorge, Somerset. At over 10,000 years old, I am the earliest known Briton to have lived and i am even more special because my skeleton was almost fully intact. This allowed my DNA to be taken by scientists to find out more information about me. the common thought was that humans adapted to paler skin after entering Europe around 45,000 years ago. However, there have been other discoveries along with me that are widely changing that perception. People in Europe had darker skin and pale eye colours such as blue or green..
