[Audio] Reason for publishing  United Nations produced this documentary to start awareness on plastic in the oceans. The main reasons for this was also to remove tons of plastic that gets thrown in the ocean every year. According to UN 300 million tons of plastic is produced every year..

[Audio] What has UNF done to HELP?  UNF received a $340,000 award from the NOAA Marine Debris program to help reduce the amount of single use plastic consumption, promote behaviors that help the environment long-term, and reduce marine debris.  UNF also conducted multiple community cleanups for locations such as the Jacksonville beach and Northbank riverwalk..

[Audio] Fun Facts  United States uses millions of single use plastic straw a day.  7.5 million plastic straws were found on U.S shore line in 5 year timeline.  Only 9% of plastics are recycled.  8.8 million tons of plastic pollution flows into the ocean each year.  Plastic can be found on all marine inhabitate.  100,000 marine animals die each year due to plastic in the ocean..
