My dad’s family side is from U.K. My Poppa (my dad’s dad) was born in1945, 8 days after WWII ended, he went to preschool at Grimsdyke Public School in London, he lived in 5 Grimsdyke Rd, Hatchend, 12 Grimsdyke Rd lived his grandmother (Edith). My Poppa went to Buckingham College from 11 years old, Hines Rd, Harrow (near where Prime Minister Churchill went to school)..

At 16 my Poppa achieved his leaving certificate, and tried to get into the RAF (Royal air force) but didn’t meet the requirements. Instead he joined the Associated Merchandise Corporation (AMC), as an office Boy. In1967 a TV program called Wickers World Down Under was shown on British TV about Australia, this program made many British people migrate to Australia including my Poppa. In 1967 David Jones sponsored my Poppa as a migrant to move to Australia, and he became a 10 pound pom..
