My Popa was born on 18 May 1945 (8 days after WWII ended), he went to preschool at Grimsdyke Public School in London, he lived in 5 Grimsdyke Rd, Hatchend, 12 Grimsdyke Rd lived his grandmother (Edith). My Popa went to Buckingham College from 11 years old, Hines Rd, Harrow (near where Prime Minister Churchill went to school)..

At 16 my Popa achieved his leaving certificate, and tried to get into the RAF (Royal air force) but didn’t meet the requirements. Instead he joined the Associated Merchandise Corporation (AMC), as an office Boy, at 18 in 1964. In1967 a TV program called Wickers World Down Under was shown on British TV about Australia, this program made many British people migrate to Australia including my Popa. In 1967 David Jones sponsored my Popa as a migrant and he became a 10 pound pom..
