[Audio] Today I would like to give you an overview of the project that ICOP Construction (M) Sdn Bhd is involved in. We are working on a project to construct a tunnel, and have made significant progress since the beginning of the project. We have prepared the necessary infrastructure, established safety protocols, and researched and planned for the most effective method of construction, allowing us to successfully complete the project to date. Now, we are ready to take a tour of the site and tunnel and learn more about what we have accomplished. I look forward to discussing the details and answering any questions you may have..

[Audio] ICOP Construction is delighted to be involved in the Langat 2 project, a construction project which requires microtunneling techniques to build a water treatment and distribution system. We have successfully achieved installing a ID2500mm composite pipe jacking from KL-Seremban Highway to Besraya Highway with a Line 2 duplicate line. Moreover, we are currently working on Package 11, which comprises of supplying and installing the main treated water pipe from the Besraya Highway to the Bukit Dengkil existing reservoir. Our team of experienced engineers are confident that our expertise will enable us to complete the project on time and in an effective manner..

[Audio] Lee Chee Yang and a team of engineers from ICOP Construction have accomplished a considerable amount in the past few weeks. They have completed pipe jacking works, chosen the right type of insulating materials and employed suitable designs, trials and installation methods. Care was taken to avoid disruption of inhabitants, buildings, utilities or the environment. Additionally, they provided proofing and NDM engineering assessments to guarantee the project's success. They were aware of the working environment and climate and even executed slurry microtunnelling techniques..

[Audio] Mr. Lee Chee Yang is here to discuss the technology behind the construction of this tunnel, and to focus on the sixth component of this project - the tunnel boring machine. It is a sophisticated piece of engineering composed of the lifting machinery, pipes, control container, main jacking station, launching seal ring and the separation plant. This tunnel boring machine is the key tool used to create the tunnel's interior, and with its help the team of engineers have been able to complete pipe jacking works with impressive speed and accuracy..

[Audio] Microtunneling is an effective method of constructing underground passages, particularly in challenging horizontal terrain such as limestone. It requires experienced personnel and specialised machines and equipment to carry out the work. For this project, ICOP Construction (M) Sdn Bhd utilised a Tunnel Boring Machine (Slurry Pressurized TBM) known as the Herrenknecht AVN1800TB “Merongmahawangsa”, that has a torque of 424-554kNm, a Cutting Wheel Rev of 0-5.1/0-11.7 rev/min, 1145kN Push/636kN Pull Steering Power per Cylinder at 450bar, 315kW Main Motor Power Capacity, a DN150 Feed Line and DN150 Slurry Line, and an OD 3085mm TBM with a length of 13.91m and weight of 66000kg. In addition, the Pipe Jacking Method (ID2500) was also employed..

[Audio] ICOP Construction (M) Sdn Bhd is constructing a tunnel using the pipe jacking method. To achieve this, they have designed and chosen cutting wheel designs and rock ground with cutting tools with a hardness of 120 MPa, as well as HF plates and raumers with TCI in 8 pairs and 16 numbers respectively. Moreover, the team have opted for center cutters with monoploc disc 305mm in 4 numbers, gauge cutters with double discs 305mm in 8 numbers, face cutters with double disc 305mm in 5 numbers, and scrapper bits with TCI with 100mm in 10 numbers. These decisions were made to ensure the successful completion of the project..

[Audio] The equipment design and criteria for backloading cutters involve mounting the disc cutters from the back of the cutting head and installing them into the disc cutter bearing, which is then locked in place by wedges and bolts. To ensure secure mounting, soil around the outer disc cutters may need to be removed. The different parts of the cutter include a cutting wheel, disc cutter, cutter box, wedge, spacer, socket head screw, washer, doughnut, and pipe jacking method. Detailed instructions for installation and removal are also provided..

[Audio] Lee Chee Yang, tunnel engineer from ICOP Construction (M) Sdn Bhd, provided a brief overview of the project and its progress. He examined the equipment, design, and criteria used in the operation. He highlighted the necessity of an Automatic Data Logging and Control System for better control of the construction process. Furthermore, he illustrated the Pipe Jacking Method, which can be employed to build tunnels with reduced impact to the environment. Following the overview, the students and lecturers were given a tour of the site and tunnel..

[Audio] Lee Chee Yang mentioned an automatic lubrication system to be installed every 6-9 meters for the tunnel. Additionally, two sets of injection pumps were established for the TBM and the tunnel. To complete the installation, an automatic mixing unit and a venturi mixer were mentioned as well as a programmable sequence that could be tailored according to time and volume specifications..

[Audio] Today I’m here to talk about the equipment used for this tunnel engineering project, such as the GNS-P Gyro Navigation System and the water level hose as well as the measuring wheel and other components. This equipment is designed with accuracy up to +/- 5mm and uses a gyro compass and water leveling system. It is robust and easy to install and has been developed to work in all kinds of environments, such as for curved drives of any radius, without requiring components to be installed in the pipe or line of sight. With this equipment, precision and control is made possible to up to a centimeter accuracy. These are the kinds of tools that make projects like this a success. Thank you..

[Audio] As an overlooked yet integral part of today's technology, the Northstar24 gyro is a marvel of engineering. This gyro is capable of rotating at a staggering rate of over 6000 revolutions per minute, making it an indispensable tool for accurate alignment. Its dual axis stabilization to Line of Sight is used in military tanks so that they can accurately fire while moving, and is also essential in merchant ships and naval vessels, where it serves as a compass for pinpointing the true north. But how does it work? The Northstar24 gyro is powered by a precisely calibrated two-axis system, which is constantly in motion in order to sense the slightest changes in velocity. This constant motion prevents the gyro from being affected by external forces, like gravity, and allows it to maintain its accuracy, even in turbulent conditions. With the Northstar24 gyro, the possibilities for accurate measurement are virtually limitless..

[Audio] I would like to thank the fellow students and lecturers for attending the technical site visit and taking the time to learn more about the project. As a tunnel engineer from ICOP Construction (M) Sdn Bhd, I am proud to provide a brief overview of the project and its accomplishments so far. As part of the project, we have installed an emergency seal system with the capability of holding pressure up to 2.5 bars as well as a pipe brake that can hold up to 100 tons. Additionally, we made sure that the design and criteria of our equipment meet industry standards. We are confident that this project will prove to be a great success. Once again, I would like to sincerely thank everyone for their attendance and interest..
