According to this theory millions of years ago all of Earth's continents were connected as one massive landmass called Pangaea. Due to geological forces the continents have slowly moved to their present-day locations. One fascinating part of this theory is the existence of Beringia a land bridge that connected Asia and North America during the ice ages. This allowed for migration of humans and animals leading to the colonization of the Americas and the development of early life there.
