[Audio] The residential home drill consists of emergency and safety training that is designed to help the client understand their roles and responsibilities in an emergency or situation that requires personal safety and the home staff's roles and responsibilities in helping accomplish their duty responsibilities. Residential home staff should always be trained; and or training their staff, in a manner that represents real-life scenarios. For example, residential staff should never prompt home clients about drills. Alerting clients about practice drills do not help staff get an accurate assessment of any performance issues that should be addressed. Whether the performance issues are with the client or home staff member. Performing the drills correctly allows staff to realize the areas that need to be improved, focus on the problems witnessed during training that will increase everyone's safety (clients and staff), and take the recognized issues to the organizational management team to discuss ways to improve the overall safety of the clients and staff. All Residential Home Supervisors will report their training days for home drills to the Residential Program Manager through text or email. The home supervisor will pick a date for the home(s) during the first week of each month to report to the Program Manager. In the past, the previous Residential Manager used the 10th of every month to stay compliant with the safety code(s). We will continue with the 10th of every month. The Residential Program Manager will come out for one of the training sessions every month. The Residential Home Supervisor(s), or the Generalist will be present to observe the other three training sessions on the homes. If the Residential Home Supervisor(s) or Generalist is in coverage on the training day. The Program Manager will ask for assistance from the other Program Managers ( Maria, Vanette, and Nicole have all agreed on this decision) at MOPC to help observe training in the residential homes. Please get the dates for the home drills training together to submit to the Program Manager in the first week of each month (no exceptions). Also, inform the residential staff working the home on the day(s) chosen for the drill(s) to ensure staff is aware of what's happening. Being transparent in the way we operate as a department helps to eliminate surprises. After reviewing this video. You are required to review and sign the Memorandum for this video.
