[Audio] Hi everyone Today our topic is Motion and its types.
[Audio] A body is said to be in motion If it changes its position With respect to its surroundings.
[Audio] The state of rest or motion of body is always relative. For example A passenger sitting in a moving bus Is at rest because he is not changing his position with respect to Other passengers or objects in the bus But an observer outside the bus The passenger and the objects inside the bus are in motion.
[Audio] Types of motion. Gears up close. Types Of Motion.
[Audio] There are three types of motion Translatory motion Rotatory motion Vibratory motion.
[Audio] In translational motion A body moves along a line without rotation The lines may be straight or curved For example Translatory motion of riders in ferris wheel Motion of vehicles.
[Audio] Translatory motion can be divided into three types Linear motion Circular motion Random motion.
[Audio] Straight line motion of body is known as linear motion For example Aeroplane flying straight in air Objects falling vertically downward Are examples of linear motion.
[Audio] Circular motion The motion of object in a circular path Is known as circular motion For example A bicycle or a car moving along a circular track Possesses circular motion Motion of earth around sun Motion of moon around earth.
[Audio] Random motion The disordered or irregular motion Of an object is called random motion For example The motion of dust or smoke particles in air Motion of insects and birds Brownian motion of a gas or liquid molecules.
[Audio] Rotatory motion The spinning motion of a body about its axis is called Rotatory motion For example Motion of wheel about its axis Motion of steering wheel Motion of earth about its geographical axis That causes day and night.
[Audio] Vibratory motion to and fro motion of a body about its mean position Is known as vibratory motion For example Motion of pendulum of clock Baby in the cradle Motion of string of a sitar.
