Larry Escamelia has been in service as Barangay Chief Tanod since 2010 up to 2017 but left this position in 2017 because he was hired as Banga Auxiliary Police (BAP) for two years due to personal and financial constraints that left him with no choice but to resign. I n 2019, with the new barangay a dministration, he was reappointed as Chief Tanod again until this date, receiving a small amount of compensation per month, he still chose to be in public service..

Rodrigo Duterte made an announcement prompting thousands of Filipinos rushing to go home to their provinces to avoid the lockdown, while the Local Governments expressed alarm and setting up a likely nightmare of nationwide contagion of the Covid-19. A nd since Brgy . Poblacion is considered as the Central District of the Municipality of Banga , PB Masangya together with the Brgy . Officials and the Peacekeeping Force conducted a checking of entrance and exit manifesto of the RORO Bus passengers residing not only in Poblacion , but the whole Municipality of Banga . Chief Tanod Larry Escamelia is also present and headed the Peacekeeping Force during the conduct of the Manifesto checking..

“CHECKPOINT AT BANGA PUBLIC MARKET” As the Chief Tanod of the Barangay Peacekeeping Force, Larry Escamelia was one of the tasked person to man on the checkpoint at Banga Public Market in monitoring and ensuring social distancing, wearing of facemasks and also checking of quarantine passes together with the BHERTS on duty. Checking of quarantine passes upon entering the public market had been the biggest challenge for them that time because Brgy . Poblacion is the capital place of Banga , residents from all over the 30 barangays of the municipality had been entering the public market that gave them a hard time to control the checkpoint because of the strict ECQ, not everyone can enter the premises especially those from other Municipalities nearby. He carried megaphone with him to purposely remind and control everyone entering within the market premises to strictly comply with the public health standards and protocols imposed..

D. PROJECTS PERSONALLY INITIATED. As a Taekwondo trainer he partnered with a private sector in conducting a 1 week Free Taekwondo Clinic for kids. He is also planning to partner with the Sangguniang Kabataan to conduct another Taekwondo Clinic for free to share his best knowledge in teaching self-defense and new skills for the youths in connection with the rising levels of violence happening around lately. This is also to empower our young ones to grow into a stable and positive environment, away from drugs, gangs and violence..
