Let the present age of Musa be x. Therefore, the present age of the father is 3x. So we have,                                         Now                                       5 years ago Musa   :                      x    years                                (x-5) years Father :                      3x  years                                (3x-5) years   Sum of ages:                                                             58 years    This implies that,  (x-5) + (3x-5)  =  58                                 x-5 + 3x -5 =  58        x + 3x-5-5 =  58                 4x-10 = 58 	   4x = 68  	     x = 17. Therefore, the present age of Musa is 17 years and father is 51 years old. When Musa was born, the father was (51 – 17 ) years = 34 years.
