One of the most well-known inventors in history is Thomas Edison . Born in 1847, edison was responsible for numerous inventions, but he is best known for the development of the electric light bulb. His work in creating a practical and affordable  light source revolutionized the way people lived and worked, extending productive hours beyond day light . Edison’s establishment of the first industrial research laboratory in Menlo pork, new  jersey, set the stage for the modern innovation practices, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and sustained reaserch.

Edison  also made significant contributions to the phonograph and motion pictures further influencing the entertainment, industry and communication

Edison’s rivalry with Nikola  tesla highlighted limitations in his understanding of alternating current (AC) technology. Edison was a proponent of direct current (DC) systems, which ultimately proved less efficient for long-distance power transmission compared to Tesla’s AC systems.

Edison’s management style  and labor practices have been criticized. He was known for demanding long hours from his workers and often had a contentious relationship with  labor unions
