[Virtual Presenter] What is Java? Java is a popular programming language created in 1995. It is owned by Oracle and more than 3 billion devices run Java. James Java is a high-level class-based object-oriented programming language that is designed to have as few implementation dependencies as possible. It is a general-purpose programming language intended to let programmers write once run anywhere (W-O-R-A-) Java was originally developed by James Gosling at Sun Microsystems. It was released in May 1995 as a core component of Sun's Java platform. The original and reference implementation Java compilers virtual machines and class libraries were originally released by Sun under proprietary licenses.
