MY FAVORITE TEACHER. Mrs. Teresita V. Labayo First Grade Teacher.

Mrs. Labayo was an engaging teacher who provided choice in her lessons, advocated for her sudents , and cared about us as a young people. I also remember her classroom being comfortable, welcoming, and safe. And Mrs. Labayo was all of those things too..

What qualities did she possess?. She has so many qualities that are admirable. She has a passion for teaching and so empathetic. She teaches very well and makes us understand the subject with fun learning. She’s so enthusiastic and engaging. She's always prepared, has clear and fair expectation, and most importantly, she was very patient..

Is she your ideal teacher?. Mrs. Labayo created engaging lessons that helped us access complex concepts and make connections. She created a learning environment where taking risks was encouraged. No matter how wrong we are at times, she gave us credit for trying. Her words of affirmation showed us that she believed in us. She cared, and it showed. I knew that I wanted to be like her and one day make a difference in students’ lives..

What influence did she have in your life?. Her breadth of knowledge filled me with admiration. She inspired me to be more active. Her commitment was like a parent, it came from love, but was not always nice. She understand me more than any other teacher. She treats me like her own child. She had high structures in her classroom, but it was a safe place where we were encouraged to share, think, and express ourselves..

Did she act in accordance to the expectations of the community?.
