[Audio] The Residential Specialist provides direct care services to persons with developmental disabilities. The Residential Specialist is available to the individuals served during their assigned shift to provide ongoing availability to the individuals served. Duties consist of quality interaction, support of individuals in all activities of daily living as appropriate to the individual's abilities, personal care, routine housekeeping, cooking, laundry, shopping, and community integration. Responsibilities also include emergency behavior or health-related interventions when needed, supervision and receiving training in the administration of medication, and driving vehicles. Serves as a positive role model for individuals served and represents the Center in the community when on duty. Residential Specialists may be assigned to any of the residential homes within their assigned shift based on organizational need. Works under moderate supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Responsible to maintain homes in a clean and safe environment. Additionally, the Residential Specialist will complete accurate and thorough documentation per HCS Texas Administrative Code, the HCS Billing Guidelines, and Center policy..
