[Audio] In 1969, IDP is founded as Australian Asian Universities Cooperation Scheme (AAUCS). Later in 1981, AAUCS changes it name to the International Development Program (IDP). Then Started a new service providing counselling to International students planning to study in Australia. In 2006, SEEK (Australian online employment marketplace) acquired 50% shares of IDP from the Australian universities' consortium Education Australia . Education Australia was formerly known as IDP Education Australia Limited. In 2015, IDP became a list company which SEEK sold its 50% shares to the general public. In January 2017, IDP acquired UK Educational listings company Hotcourses for £30 million. Hotcourses was co-founded by British politician and former Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt. In January 2022, IDP acquired British Council's IELTS business in India. This means that all IELTS tests in India will be delivered by IDP. Under the terms of the agreement, IDP will acquire 100 per cent of British Council's India. The transaction is subject to customary conditions with completion expected to occur in August.
