“Nursing again outpaced other professions for honesty and ethics for the 17th consecutive year. Eighty percent of Americans say nurses have “very high” or “high” standards of honesty and ethics. This public trust invests power and influence on nurses in a way that no other profession engenders. In addition, nurses possess the power of numbers as the largest professional health care group. Yet nurses often see themselves as powerless”(Groenwald & Eldridge, 2020, p. 22).
Training New Nurses Using PDSA. Mentoring and training new graduates is a powerful way to create a ripple effect of empowerment. As they develop their skills and grow in their roles, they, too, will become mentors and sources of inspiration for the next generation. This cyclical process builds a community where each nurse contributes to the collective empowerment of their colleagues Plan-Do-Study-Act (Younger, 2020)..
The combination of mentoring and training new graduates, along with the application of the Plan-Do-Study-Act cycle, creates a dynamic and empowering environment within healthcare communities. This approach fosters a culture of continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and support for the professional development of nurses and other healthcare professionals..

Question. How can mentorship and training programs in nursing contribute to bridging the perception gap of powerlessness among nurses, while simultaneously fostering a culture of empowerment and collective contribution within the healthcare community?.
