My Personal N ursing P hilosophy. “ To always be a friendly face and utilise exceptional professional communication skills to engage with people on a human level , t o provide person-centred, all-encompassing, holistic care. To always provide safe and effective nursing care. To always uphold the Human Rights, and the guiding ethical principles of nursing morality, and to not be afraid to speak up and advocate for patients if I see these being disregarded. To always be extending myself to learn and expand my skill set. To habitually reflect on my practice and interactions, as there are always things to learn and improve if you effectively implement reflective practices. To recurrently consult the ‘Nursing Standards for Practice’. All elements of nursing are expressed within these standards and this has undoubtedly been a huge guiding source in shaping my nursing philosophy and informing my journey throughout the degree. And lastly to forever be grateful and conscious of the privilege we have as nurses, to be benefitting from years of scientific pursuit, which has coalesced in today’s level of knowledge, skills and technology, and to forever be humbled by the immense lasting impact we can have on patient’s and their families lives.”.
