CBRNE Trained Clinic staff (as applicable) must be prepared to respond to an event of chemical spill or accidental release of hazardous material in premises. b. Site Clinic shall have their own appropriate chemical spill kits on hand for emergencies. 2. Staff who notices the accidental spill shall identify the spilled chemical or hazardous materials and assess the type and volume of spill and perform following steps: a. Blood and Body Fluid Spillage (e.g. small spots of blood and body fluids): - Use the biological spill kit. Wear the gloves and eye protection. Wipe-up the spilled blood with paper towels soaked with antiseptics/ disinfectants. - If broken glass is present, first treat the spillage with hypochlorite, and then carefully remove the pieces of glass with disposable forceps or scoop to a sharps bin, before wiping up as above..
