Volcanoes are originated from magma (molten rock) which is  deep inside the earth forces its way to the surface. Magma appears as different forms such as – As flows of molten lava As volcanic bombs Fragments of rocks And as ash dust. Mountains which are made of all these materials are  known as VOLCANOES. The largest volcanic eruption in recorded  history is that out Mount Tambora on Sumbawa island,  Indonesia Volcanoes can come in various shapes in accordance with the steepness the lava flows.

As the earth was formed 4,600 million years ago, the crust was formed around it’s outside. The crust is not only one piece	 it is broken in to different sections called plates, some of these plates are enormous as continents, while others are small. Underneath the crust remains molten rock.  The plates float and move so slowly, in some places the plates move and scrape each other or knock each other this is known as  plate  boundry . The movement in the plate boundary cause volcanic eruptions. The Circum-pacific Volcanic Belt. This area is known as the " Ring of Fire " because it is where the largest volcanoes occur.
