CONCEPT : GELEZA NEGAGASI. Geleza neGagasi is an annual Gagasi FM initiative which translates to ‘Learn /study with Gagasi FM’. The initiative is aimed at rewarding excellence whilst encouraging learning and accentuate the importance of education. Geleza neGagasi targets KZN primary and high school learners as well as tertiary students, it has been running successfully for over 4 years with a commitment to also assist parents who struggle to afford and provide for their child’s education needs. The campaign draws focus on both the school and higher education learning which are two elements that run concurrently on-air i.e. back to school and back to study. The campaign takes place from December to January whereby we encourage listeners to send through their entries using email , website and fax. The initiative continues to grow in leap and bounds every year. Listeners are encouraged through on-air call to entry adverts to send in their motivational letters along with their academic reports or results stipulating school or tertiary needs (i.e. stationery, uniform and school /tuition fees). Winners are selected based on the motivation letter sent through and learner’s performance in class to encourage learning (high performers are rewarded)..

CAMPAIGN ROLL-OUT. DIGITAL Social media updates encouraging listeners to enter. Create a web banner which will have a form that allow people to enter using a web form. HAND-OVER Hand-over at a location for photo opportunities. On-air promo naming all the winners and thanking sponsor. The Handover ceremony is used as a platform to acknowledge and reward all the winners and parents in the presence of the stations MD, the media and a surprise guest. The aim is to join together and celebrate the achievement of all learners who are making their mark in their respective fields of study regardless of any situation and financial circumstances at home and surroundings ..
