New Initiative taken to improve Medical Facility in Himachal Pradesh.

Implementation. The ESI Scheme in H.P. was started during the year 1977. Initially Himachal Pradesh region was being run by Regional Office, Punjab. In 2004, Himachal Pradesh came into force as an Independent Region. The ESI scheme is now implemented in the entire 12 Districts of Himachal Pradesh i.e. Shimla, Solan, Sirmour, Una, Bilaspur, Kangra, Mandi, Kullu, Lahaul & Spiti, Chamba, Hamirpur & Kinnaur. The Govt. of Himachal Pradesh vide notification no. Health-A-(5)1/04-I dated 05.08.2009 has decided to implement the ESI Scheme in the state through a Society and accordingly Society for implementation of ESI Scheme in H.P. has been registered under H.P. Societies Registration Act 2006 on 30.11.2009. The Society for implementation of ESI Scheme in H.P. has started functioning in the state of H.P. w.e.f. 01.04.2010.

MEDICAL BOARDS Initially in Himachal Region one medical board from Chandigarh Model Hospital was constituted to decide the Permanent Disablement Benefit. After the opening of ESIC Model Hospital at Baddi on 10th May 2010 a separate Medical Board constituted by Hqrs. Office for Himachal Pradesh region. At present one Medical Board at RO Baddi holding the meetings..
