INTRODUCTION:. The main idea of this topic is to contrast the narrow-minded thinking of people in Pakistan and how it is a major social issue in Pakistan. This pervasive mindset, deeply rooted in cultural, religious, and socio-economic factors, has emerged as a significant social issue. We will explore the manifestations of this narrow-minded thinking, its impact on our society, and most importantly, the proactive steps that can be taken to cultivate a more open, accepting, and broad-minded ethos among the people of Pakistan..

“Closed Minds” This refers to individuals or a society that is resistant to new ideas, alternative perspectives, or different ways of thinking. Closed-mindedness can lead to a lack of understanding, intolerance, and a reluctance to accept diversity.
 "Open borders" refers to a policy or concept that advocates for the free movement of people across national boundaries. In a broader sense, it can symbolize openness and acceptance, suggesting a society that welcomes diversity and embraces different cultures, ideas, and perspectives.
 Breaking Through Perspectives: This phrase implies a desire or effort to overcome narrow-mindedness and expand one's understanding. It suggests a willingness to challenge preconceived notions, break through barriers of ignorance or bias, and explore alternative viewpoints.

 Rejects new ideas and perspectives.
 Thinks they are always right.
 Focused on being understood.
 Blocks out other opinions.
 Creates an intolerant society and opposes diversity.

Open Minded
 Welcomes new ideas and perspectives.
 Understand that they could be always wrong.
 Focused on understanding others.
 Enjoys the opinions of others.
 Creates a diverse and tolerant society.

Exploring and Understanding Mindsets of People in Pakistan:

If we talk about the people of Pakistan, It is not ethically right to call the whole nation narrow-minded but we see a lot of examples of people who do not embrace alternative ideas and are very intolerant towards the other people. As a Pakistani myself, I observe things around me, and by that I can say that generally people don’t like to respect the opinion of others just because the others might belong to a minority, or they might be saying something that conflicts with your thoughts but there is no point of hating someone because of his different approach of seeing things.

The main reason behind this issue is not the people of Pakistan but the state. The state has so far failed to provide basic education to its masses. A record number of children are out of school. The education system lags far behind as it is based on imitating the other systems and the decision-makers have never given a thought to nation-building through curriculum ever. Exposure comes from travel and since the majority of the nation is living in poverty there is not much concept of traveling abroad for recreation.

A college professor in Pakistan was forced to denounce Darwin's theory of evolution, creating a wave of concern among academics across the South Asian country. The video of Sher Ali, an assistant professor of zoology who teaches Darwin's theory of evolution as part of a course at the Government Post Graduate College in Bannu, is going viral on social media. In the clip, shot last week, he is seen surrounded by clerics while reading the apology dictated on a stamp paper.

An angry mob stormed a police station in Punjab, Pakistan, murdering a man being held there on accusations of blasphemy on February 11, 2023. Several videos circulated online documenting this horrific murder. Unfortunately, this is not the first time something like this has happened, says our Observer, who has been documenting similar issues for years.

These two are just recent cases that happened in our country. But there are many more examples even in our daily lives we can see people disrespecting each other because of different approaches towards anything whether it is political, religious, or educational.
We can see our people fighting and abusing each other just because one is supporting a political party that the other does not support.
This all just spreads intolerance and violence in our society and opposes diversity. Is this right? Is this what Islam teaches us? Is this how we can make our place harmonious and peaceful to live? Is this the image we have to show to people who are not Pakistani?.

Cannot we see all these issues in our very own country?
Of course, we see all of those issues listed above are faced by us.

Education and Awareness: Improve the education quality and curriculum. Same standard of education all over the Pakistan. Adoption of National level curriculum. Supporting educated political leaders who embrace diversity. Encourage media to promote this issue and spread awareness. Government responsibilities: Establishment of child caring centers. Demolition of Jaghirdar-ana-nizam. Legal Measures: Implement and enforce anti-discrimination laws to protect marginalized groups. Ensure that legal frameworks promote equality and punish acts of discrimination. Protection to minorities
