AIDS in the United States. In the United States, around 1.2 million people are infected with HIV. About a third of them are unaware of it and require testing. 14 th leading cause of death around the world. Targeting people that are HIV positive and immune compromised. HIV continues to affect specific groups disproportionately, including racial and ethnic minorities, as well as homosexual, bisexual, and other males who have sex with men. In 2010, President Barack Obama issued the country's first National HIV/AIDS Strategy. Reduce new HIV infections, increase access to care and improve health outcomes for individuals living with HIV, reduce HIV-related inequalities and health inequities, and achieve a coordinated national response to the pandemic. This was modified in 2015 and will continue through 2020-21. In the United States, an estimated 34,800 new HIV infections were reported in 2019. In the United States and dependent territories, 36,801 persons were diagnosed with HIV in 2019..
Transmission. HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) is a virus that affects the body's natural defensive mechanism, the immune system. AIDS is the last stage of HIV infection (acquired immunodeficiency syndrome). Persons with AIDS have a low number of CD4+ cells and are more susceptible to infections and malignancies than healthy people. These can be quite dangerous. However, having HIV does not imply that you have AIDS. HIV takes a long time to proceed to AIDS, even without treatment—usually 10 to 12 years. Majority of people get HIV by having unprotected intercourse with an HIV-positive person. Sharing drug needles with someone who is HIV-positive is another typical method to obtain it. During pregnancy, delivery, or nursing, the virus can be transferred from a woman to her infant..
THE GLOBAL FUND. The Global Fund is a collaboration that aims to hasten the abolition of AIDS, TB, and malaria as epidemics. The Global Fund, an international organization created in 2002, mobilizes and spends more than $4 billion each year to support initiatives operated by local professionals in more than 100 countries. The Fund collaborates with governments, civic society, technical agencies, the commercial sector, and individuals afflicted by illnesses to break down obstacles and embrace innovation. Since the peak of the HIV epidemic in the late 1990s and early 2000s, the Fund has slashed yearly AIDS-related fatalities and new infections in half. Of the 38 million individuals living with HIV, 27.5 million are taking antiretroviral medication now, including 21.9 million in countries where the Global Fund invests..

Strategies and Implementation. WHO strives to develop innovative and creative partnerships, fostering new ways of working in order to achieve common health goals, and, along with over 190 Member States, works with myriad bodies, including other United Nations agencies, nongovernmental organizations, donors and civil society. The strategic directions are: Information for focused action (know your epidemic and response) Interventions for impact (covering the range of services needed) Delivering for equity (covering the populations in need of services) Financing for sustainability (covering the costs of services) Innovation for acceleration (looking towards the future). HIV illness can be treated using treatment regimens that include three or more antiretroviral (ARV) medicines. Current antiretroviral treatment (ART) does not cure HIV infection, but it greatly reduces viral replication within the body and helps an individual's immune system to heal and strengthen in order to fend off opportunistic infections and some malignancies. Since 2016, WHO has advised that all persons living with HIV, including children, adolescents, adults, pregnant and nursing women, be treated with lifelong ART, regardless of clinical status or CD4 cell count. By June 2021, 187 nations had already embraced this advice, representing 99 percent of all HIV-positive patients worldwide..
Strategies for the Nurse. Since UNAIDS announced the 90-90-90 objectives, the Association of Nurses in AIDS Care has emphasized the numerous ways in which nurses can lead. Several policies have been created by the association, including: Ensure that patients' rights to equal and accessible health care are respected. Care for the disadvantaged and vulnerable people Providing care throughout the whole HIV service continuum Giving evidence-based, person-centered care Making a commitment to inter-professional collaboration Despite the COVID-19 pandemic's devastating impact on the world's most vulnerable populations and the threat it poses to HIV care progress, nurses continue on the front lines of care. In this exceptional year, they have shown remarkable bravery, selflessness, and stoicism. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, they are utilizing lessons learnt during the early days of the HIV and AIDS epidemic..
Advocacy Strategies for Nurses. RZSP€. Investment in HIV nursing worldwide means: Advance nurse-led care through policies and legislation that support nurses’ true role in HIV prevention, care, and treatment. Expand resources, budget allocation, and staffing structures that reflect the central role of nursing to HIV care and achievement of 90–90–90. Develop health systems that ensure strong interprofessional collaboration. Promote the equitable representation of nurses on health care and HIV decision-making bodies..
Conclusion. WE NEED RESEARCH, NOT. Every year, HIV/AIDS claims the lives of millions of people all over the world. It might be difficult for low- to middle-income persons to stick to pharmaceutical regimens or even seek medical help. It might be difficult to find answers to this continuous issue, but there are various ways to help. As a nurse, I believe that preventative, secondary, and tertiary therapies are critical in reducing HIV/AIDS transmission. We know how critical it is to stop the spread since we work on the front lines. I feel that continuing to educate patients is critical in the function of healthcare. It only takes a few minutes to teach our patients about illness prevention, treatment, and management..
