Tevin Louis Case. On July 8, 2012, Tevin Louis and his best friend Marquise Sampson robbed a local gyros shop for approximately $1,250. Afterward, they ran in different directions, with Sampson's path leading him to cross paths with a police officer named Antonio Dicarlo. Sampson was shot three times by Dicarlo after attempting to escape. Later, Louis returned to the scene and was arrested for disorderly conduct and murder. As a result, Louis received a sentence of 32 years in prison for armed robbery and 20 years in prison for first-degree murder..

My Opinion. In my opinion, the charges brought against Tevin Louis are unjustified. Tevin committed a crime by committing an armed robbery, but he did not kill or murder anyone, so he should not have been charged with murder. This law, in my opinion, should be revoked because it causes more harm than good. The rule does not make any logical sense and results in many people being convicted of crimes they did not commit, which is unjust..
