Ethics & Identity Assignment Descriptions. 1A. Ethics & Identity Project: How Do Our Values and Beliefs Guide Our Ethics and Identity? (9%) Drawing from our readings, films, discussions, and written explorations of ethics, morals and identity, your project can explore a personal issue for you or a larger world issue. You can complete your project as a Word, PowerPoint or video project. Whatever modality you choose to develop your project in, you will need to include discussions of the following areas: 1. Share with readers what your ethical issue is, that is, define it. 2. Discuss your stance, belief, practice on your issue; include why and how you believe this, e.g., upbringing, schooling, culture, religion. 3. Perhaps the most challenging step, explore how or in what ways you can see and understand someone’s view that is contrary to your own. 4. Document the sources you use in your project (you can use only class readings or research more if you wish). Feel free to expand on these guidelines and, if you wish to explore your project in another way, discuss this with the instructor..

Ethics & Identity Assignment Descriptions. Presentation : 1% On the day you are scheduled to share your project, you will do so with two different groups of classmates. In short, you will present the same materials twice. On the day you do not present, you will be an audience for two classmates’ projects. There are two parts to your presentation: 1. Your presentation for this project asks that you sit with a quarter of the class (assigned ahead of time) in a circle and informally share what you explored, learned, and wish your classmates learn from your project. You will have 6 minutes each time. 2. Once you finish each presentation, your classmates will have 4 minutes to ask you questions. Each of the two groups listening to you will use a rubric to assess your project and presentation. We will use your classmates’ assessment (and their vote) to determine a best of group, e.g., we will have a best from Presentation Day 1, and another for Presentation Day 2. Each winner will receive three extra points and a Coffee Bean gift card..
