[Audio] It is important to breakdown and digest the problem one step at a time. This way it is easier to take action and feel more motivated to make a change. In this powerpoint, we will go over the importance of this issue, who it concerns, possible solutions, and how people can implement these solutions into their daily lives..

[Audio] The first crucial step in solving a problem is recognizing it; it is impossible to resolve something that you are unaware of. Becoming more cognizant about the situation will help for smooth sailing along the way. So, what situation is there to address you may ask?.

Page 4 (51s)

[Audio] The big question we are asking ourselves is what is making us feel so tired? From our research we conducted, there were many different factors involved. Some of the main ones that heavily impact individuals are diets, inactivity, electronics, and stress. Four things that most of the population struggles with. Let's break these categories down to help analyze the situation further..

Page 5 (1m 14s)

[Audio] Overall diet plays a humongous role for our energy levels, but what is the most important meal of the day? You probably already knew it was breakfast, but why? Well, breakfast is the first thing in the morning that provides your brain with energy to start the day off strong. However; without your morning fuel, it is most common to feel extra tired and not as motivated..

Page 6 (1m 36s)

[Audio] In addition to not having breakfast, not getting enough physical activity is just as consequential. Everyone knows physical activity is imperative to their health but do they know why? Our research proves activity strengthens the heart and does not require it to work as hard as one who is inactive. As a result, inactive people are at a higher risk for health complications..

Page 7 (2m 2s)

[Audio] Following inactivity, another factor is the electronics we use everyday. Not only do electronics decrease quality of sleep, but it can also harm parts of the body. According to researchers, the blue light is harmful to the retina, located in the back of our eyes..

Page 8 (2m 30s)

[Audio] And finally, stress. Stress can come at anytime in your life due to anything ranging from school, work, or even family. It is unrealistic to avoid stress altogether in life, but managing it to keep it at a minimum will increase your levels of energy significantly..

Page 9 (2m 50s)

[Audio] After figuring out the causes of not having enough energy, we want to further understand who this problem might affect..

Page 10 (2m 59s)

[Audio] And not to our surprise, it affects more people than most would assume. Many people could have guessed full time students, workers, or parents. The truth is it affects most people that have not addressed the situation. So people who have poor diets, are not physically active, stress more than they should, and spend too much time on their devices..

Page 11 (3m 21s)

[Audio] You may be thinking, "How in the world can I change all of these bad habits at once? This seems impossible!" Don't be too worried, because in just a few changes, you can feel more energized than ever. Just remember, pace yourself along the way and know that it will not happen overnight, it takes time!.

Page 12 (3m 42s)

[Audio] We have come up with some solutions to guide you in the right direction in taking control of the situation. With a few changes here and there working up to a healthier lifestyle, you'll have more energy in no time. With that being said, here are a few changes we suggest..

Page 13 (4m 2s)

[Audio] Start with eating a healthy breakfast! This will set your mood for the rest of your day and after your body makes it a habit, you will be guaranteed more energy to power you through the day without having to rely on energy drinks or coffee. Some good choices to consider would be foods full of protein like eggs, yogurt, or nuts. We also recommend a serving of fruits or vegetables..

Page 14 (4m 28s)

[Audio] Another important change to make is getting enough physical activity. Exercise is super important because it supplies nutrition to your body and helps the heart receive oxygen easier than it normally would. As a result of this, your body will produce more energy on its own. This will be a key feature in feeling energized daily! Start off slow and try being active for about 15 minutes a day, once you feel like you can increase the length of activity, slowly add time to your workouts for better results. Also, it is important to not forget to allow yourself a couple rest days throughout the week. You do not want to overwork your body..

Page 15 (5m 2s)

[Audio] Additionally, to gain more energy we can make small adjustments in our device usage and their settings. Most devices offer the " blue light blockers." It presents the screen in a warmer tone and is not too hard on your eyes. Another suggestion to help prevent you from feeling tired throughout the day is to cut back on electronics before bed. By doing this, you can have a better nights rest and ultimately feel more energized when you wake up in the morning. It only takes 30 minutes before bed with no electronics to help you sleep better..

Page 16 (5m 39s)

[Audio] Lastly, yoga and meditation are a great way to reduce stress and anxiety because of the relaxation involved in it. It allows for your body to clear the mind and focus on breathing. Being able to clear your mind definitely helps with relieving stress, which in turn will help you be more rested, giving your body more energy..

Page 17 (6m 2s)

[Audio] Now the final step in the process, how to implement all of these solutions. It may seem overwhelming at first, but we must remind you, it takes time. By implementing a new routine, you can feel the best you have felt in awhile, so don't be discouraged and follow these steps!.

Page 18 (6m 23s)

[Audio] First and foremost, you do not want to overwhelm yourself with the amount of work! Start slow and ease into it. If you rush yourself into it, you will most likely feel unmotivated with the workload. Second, keep track of your progress, you can do this by keeping a journal or on your phone. Seeing the progress overtime will help motivate you to keep going. And finally, set new goals for yourself when you feel like you're not challenging yourself enough. Challenging yourself more and more will help create more habits and eventually get you to your end goal!.
