I was born completely sightless, a consequence of my parents' consanguineous marriage. From the very beginning, life presented me with challenges that many would consider insurmountable. But I never allowed my disability to define me. Instead, I embraced it as a unique gift, one that would shape my character and my destiny. With a confident heart and a focused mind, I have walked the path of life with determination and positivity. I have faced complexities and challenges with a never-say-die attitude. Today, I stand before you as a testament to the power of resilience and the strength of the human spirit..

My Personal Family, My Source of Inspiration. My spouse, Srilatha Ilango, and our 9-year-old son, S. Aarvan Vetri Ilango We are not just a family; we are a team, a unit bound by love, respect, and a shared commitment to making a positive impact on the world. Srilatha is not only my life partner but also my pillar of strength. Together, we founded the Vision Inspiring Ilango Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to preventing suicides and empowering the visually challenged through education and technology. Our mission is to create a suicide-free India and to train every individual in Emotion Management. Our son, Aarvan Vetri Ilango, is a child prodigy in music, a world record holder, and an inspiration to us all. His passion for music and his achievements in academics, karate, and abacus, at such a young age, fill us with pride and joy. We are a family that believes in the power of love, compassion, and resilience..
Srilatha will be administering a series of fundraisers for our foundation under the title "Uravugal Thodar Kadhai With Inspiring Ilango." This Musiration (Music and Inspiration) series will be held every Saturday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. It will feature me singing timeless classic movie songs with Ace Panacea Entertainers team of musicians. The primary objective of this fundraising Musiration series is to evoke soft and positive emotions and inspire every individual who attends. I invite each one of you to be a part of this journey and to support our mission of making the world a better place..
The Role of Humor in Life and Learning. As students, you will experience countless moments of camaraderie, late-night study sessions, and the kind of banter that only friends can share. Cherish these moments, for they are the ones that will stay with you long after you leave these halls. Remember, engineering is not just about equations and formulas; it’s about creativity, innovation, and the joy of discovering something new. So, laugh often, connect with your peers, and build relationships that will last a lifetime..
A Healthy Greeting Practice. From today onwards, whenever you meet someone for the first time, greet them with the traditional, "Good morning, good afternoon, good evening, and good night." However, when you meet people from the second time onwards, after becoming familiar with them, I encourage you to greet them with "Healthy morning, healthy afternoon, healthy evening, and healthy night." This practice is not just a greeting but a wish for the well-being and vitality of the person you are addressing. It’s a subtle reminder that health, both physical and emotional, is the foundation of a fulfilling life. Some educational institutions and organizations have already adopted this tradition. I believe it’s time for Velammal 1st year engineering students to embrace it as well. By doing so, you are not only fostering a culture of wellness but also expressing genuine care and concern for others..
A Call to Action. "I don’t have eyesight; but I have vision." Each of you has eyesight. You should also have a vision for yourself, your family, and society and humanity. You must have the vision to dream big, to overcome obstacles, and to achieve greatness. Use your Emotional Intelligence to guide you! Let your heart lead the way, and never forget the power of resilience, love, and laughter. Let us make a promise today: to be kind to ourselves, to be kind to others, and to strive for excellence in everything we do. Together, we can create a world where success is measured not just by achievements, but by the positive impact we have on those around us..
