[Audio] In 1986 in an effort to control illegal immigration Congress passed the immigration Reform and Control Act (I-R-C-A-) IRCA Forbids employers from knowingly hiring individuals who do not have work authorization in the United States Individuals who may legally work in the United States are: Citizens of the United States Noncitizen nationals of the United States Lawful Permanent Residents Aliens authorized to work Background This is federal law and we have to abide by it.
[Audio] To comply with the employment eligibility verification provisions an employer must: Verify the identity and employment authorization documents of employees hired after November 6 1986 Complete and retain a ForM I-9 for each employee hired after November 6 1986 Refrain from discrimination against individuals on the basis of actual or perceived national origin citizenship or immigration status Additional Note: All employers are required to follow the I-9 process (for all employees hired after November 6 1986) The employer is liable for any I-9 errors I-9 seconds have to be verified within first 3 days of employment (new hires complete section one in Paycom through self onboarding) Rehires will complete the rehire self ob checklist in the app. located under the bell. Please have them do so soon as TA sends the log in information. The dora will not be able to complete their section until the rehire completes their section first. [Audio] SYSTEM I-9 in Paycom New hires complete I-9 in Paycom when they complete new hire paperwork (we do not do paper I-9s) The employer must verify the team members documentation within 72 hours Because the documents have to be authenticated this cannot be done by the coordinators it has to be done at the community level by the dora At the end of general orientation in the community the dora will review the documents presented by the team members make copies (if needed) and complete Section 2 of I-9 in Paycom. Important to note: we do not retain copies of the documents presented. Once you complete Section 2 you are to shred the copies of the documents.
[Audio] work OPPORTUNITY TAX CREDIT Federal tax credit available to employers for hiring individuals from certain targeted groups who have consistently faced significant barriers to employment It is currently authorized until December 31 2025 Targeted groups include: Qualified veterans Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (food stamps) recipients Supplemental Security income recipients and others.

[Audio] Instruction for uploading pdf documents: Scan the orientation packet and NEW HIRE test paperwork to your email and save as P-D-F--. (Offer letter if a rehire) Once in paycom on the green bar click on Time Management then Timecard Search. Now go to the search bar above Select All type the name of the employee and click on the employee’s name. On the next page you will click on the employee’s name in B-L-U-E go to ForM 15-(DOCUMENTS). Under the Documents you will look for New Hire Paperwork and click on it. It should green in color. On the right of the page you will see Document Actions click on the drop down and look for Assign Documents. Click on it. From the drop down labeled Choose Document start typing UPLOAD orientation documents. Click on this..
