[Audio] Good evening all, today we'd like to share our exciting vision for Reimagining the railway station in Firozabad, a concept that aims to not only serve as a transportation hub but also as a catalyst for local economic growth and cultural preservation. Firozabad, renowned for its exquisite glass craftsmanship, has a rich cultural heritage that we intend to celebrate and promote through this innovative design The station that has been selected for the development of Firozabad district is Tundla junction, situated in the Firozabad district of Uttar Pradesh, is one of the prominent railway stations in the northern part of India. It is positioned approximately 25 kilometers away from the historical city of Agra, renowned for the iconic Taj Mahal. It serves as a major transit point for travelers moving between destinations such as Agra, Delhi, Kanpur, and Lucknow. The station code name of Tundla Jn is 'TDL'. As part of one of the busiest and populated Indian states, Uttar Pradesh, the Tundla Jn railway station is known amongst the top hundred train ticket booking and train traveling stations of the Indian Railway. The total number of trains that pass through Tundla Jn (TDL) junction is 249. There are a total of 5 well-built platforms at TDL.

[Audio] Our concept revolves around the idea of showcasing the local craftsmanship and the abundant local resource – glass. Firozabad's glass industry is a source of pride and tradition, and we envision the railway station as a symbol of this heritage. This station will be more than just a stop on a journey; it will be an immersive experience that reflects the essence of the city To achieve this, we propose the incorporation of a Culture Centre and a Product Display Centre within the station complex. These spaces will serve as platforms for local artisans to exhibit their skills and products, fostering a sense of pride and continuity in the community. Cultural sustainability is targeted from the proposal in a way to achieve the economic and social sustainability at the same time. Visitors passing through the station will have the opportunity to learn about the art of glassmaking, witness the craftsmen at work, and even purchase unique glassware, supporting the local economy..

[Audio] To achieve the idea of the project, Segmenting the area to allocate spaces for different functions, separating open areas from covered blocks for the railway station which is perpendicularly placed to the platform. Main access road dividing the site in two parts open and closed. Segregation of the bulding blocks into further zones as per users and ease of accessibility has been done, extending the mass till the other side to separate the platforms and tracks zone from the open gathering spaces created on site. The Shopping area is further channelised for efficient use and movement of pedestrians and creating pockets for local hawkers to sell their stuff.

[Audio] Further design elements added to the site for use of recycled glass, such as: An elegant glass wall graces the primary double-height entry of the railway station A skylight adorned with vibrant stained glass allows natural light to illuminate the atriums within the station premises, infusing them with a spectrum of colors A wall constructed from recycled glass bricks lines the periphery walkways of the floor plates, allowing the infusion of natural light and a spectrum of colors In conclusion, the proposed railway station design for Firozabad is a testament to the city's identity, its rich history, and its vibrant glass industry. It's not just a transportation hub but a cultural landmark that encapsulates the spirit of Firozabad and serves as an engine for economic growth. By displaying the local craftsmanship and integrating glass elements, we aim to create a station that leaves a lasting impression on all who pass through, while also serving as a source of pride for the local community.
