[Audio] All employees should have safety in mind at all times and should make use of protective measures at all times. Noise to be kept to a minimum. The use of portable radios on site is prohibited All personnel / visitors must undergo induction before commencing work on site and must sign that they have indeed received same No smoking on site Site operation hours are 8am – 4.30pm Monday to Friday. Additional out of hours must be approved with site supervisor Comply with all Relevant Risk Assessments.

[Audio] Hard hats, Hi-vis and protective footwear must be worn as a minimum . Additional PPE may include gloves, ear and eye protection, required for specific tasks. Hard Hats When In Proximity Of Anyone working at Height. All persons must be conversant with the action to take on the event of a fire - site All persons must conduct themselves in an orderly manner whilst on site Any person entering the site under the influence of drugs or alcohol will be immediately asked to leave or ejected from site. Access to site will be from designated entrances only Horseplay – Bullying - will not be tolerated Drumlough Developments reserve the right to prosecute anyone caught stealing or aiding and abetting such an act Permit to work for Confined Spaces and Hot Work ie some excavations – sewers – pipes - tunnels Eating and Drinking on Site is restricted to designated areas only – own private vehicle or designated site hut.

[Audio] First Aid and Hygiene. Avoid Injuries – use tools and equipment in a correct and safe manner Keep work area free from rubbish and sharp objects (Tidy as you go) Wash hands before eating Welfare and First aid Point is located at site hut ( See Site Map) Do not access first aid kit without Site Managers Knowledge Your First Aider For This Site Is – Site Manager or other named on Sign. Waste Externally – waste skips are not to be sighted so as to block rescue or means of escape. Waste is segregated please use correct receptacle..

[Audio] Fire Precautions. Do not stock pile rubbish on site, dispose appropriately Do not light fires on site Report all fires on site – no matter how small Cutting should be done off site if possible and spark producing machinery use to be limited. If Fire is Spotted – the Alarm should be raised - FIRE< FIRE< FIRE and assist with evacuation. Muster at site entrance. Do not attempt to go towards fire to collect personal items.

[Audio] Fire Plan. In the event of a fire a bell will ring and a shout of Fire, Fire, Fire. Upon hearing this all persons must leave site immediately and go to the assembly point –Site Entrance Gate – and wait there to be checked off by site supervisor. There is a site Fire plan displayed on site hut notice board – Refer to this before commencing work on site. Make sure all routes around and in the site are kept clear an unobstructed. Do not leave site – Until site supervisor is notified.

[Audio] Emergency procedures in the event of a spill. Be prepared to contain spills to prevent spreading – small areas are easier to clean than large ones. Bertie carries a spill kit on the lorry – for use in the event of fuel spillage Use sand – if spill kits not available..

[Audio] In the event of a Gas leak. If Gas escape is smelt or suspected; then remove all personnel and public from the immediate vicinity. Do not attempt to stop escape by back filling. Inform site manager Call gas supplier. Phoenix or Firmus Energy 0800002001 Gas companies must be notified at least 3 days in advance if excavations are to be within 3 metres of Gas mains Hand held tools are not to be used within 1.5 metres of a gas pipeline No smoking or sources of ignition in the area and all naked flame must be extinguished..

[Audio] In the event of hitting electrical cables. If you suspect that a cable has been damaged, mark the location. Keep people at a safe distance and telephone NIE 08457643643. A cable detector must be used and excavations are commenced. Never assume that service cables follow a straight line or run at the same depth..

[Audio] Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE. Hard Hats as assessed, ( In Proximity to – even walking past scaffolding) Hi – viz, and protective Footwear must be worn at all times whilst on site. Trainers are not permitted on site. Dust masks used when required, however specifically when cutting concrete, block etc. Ensure masks are fitted properly to yourself. Use Water suppression (provided) Whilst cutting concrete Gloves and eye protection to be used when required If PPE is defective or appropriate PPE is unavailable do not continue with work and report immediately to site manager..

[Audio] Mobile Phone Policy. Only site supervisors are permitted to use mobile phones on site. This includes texting Only exception is, employees dealing with a First Aid situation or other emergency and for Drumlough business use. Mobile Phones can be used during break times Work Vehicles- Mobiles to be used only when vehicle is static or there is a hands free fitted for business purposes and emergencies only. Do not use phone when operating site equipment or walking around site..

[Audio] Smoking Policy. The Smoking(NI) Order 2006 states that its objective is to protect employees and the general public from exposure of second hand smoke. The order directs that enclosed and public places are to be smoke free. Drumlough Developments do not allow smoking on site, in plant or in company vehicles..

[Audio] Ladders and Stepladders… Ladders are to be used for access purposes only, unless the work is for a very short duration. Always 3 points of contact Do not carry items – use a belt, bag or hoist Do not use ladder if visibly damaged All ladders should be tied in position (stabilized) – if this is not possible – get someone to hold and foot. Ladders must extend a suitable distance above a stepping off point. Do Not use top step of steps Make sure steps are locked out in position.

[Audio] Working at Height… All works will conform to the Working at Height Regulations 2005 which require: That all work at height is planned, assessed, organised and carried out by competent persons Choose the right work equipment and select collective control measures to prevent falls. ie Fall protection, especially when erecting frame kits. Scaffolding erected by qualified scaffolding erectors. This will incorporate the relevant ladders, guard rails, toe boards and signed off by erector. Modification will not be permitted to these scaffolds. Modifications can only be completed by competent / qualified person/s. Ladders may be used to gain access to working platforms. For tasks low risk and very short duration, ladders and stepladders can be used. No work at height will be permitted during adverse weather conditions..

Permit to work applications must be made and signed by site foreman before any works can start, These include - Permit to hot works – Permit to enter confined spaces – Excavations Register These permits are to be forwarded to the site supervisor to be stored in the site hut..

[Audio] Accident / Incident / Near Miss Reporting… Accident / Incident Reporting All accidents and Incidents are to be reported immediately to site foreman, and must be recorded. Additionally all accidents/ incidents are to be reported to Head office / Health and safety officer. This includes a near miss. If site foreman cannot be contacted. [Audio] Inspection, Maintenance and Use of Plant / Equipment. All machinery and plant is to be inspected before every use by the person trained to operate it. If defect found, do not use and prevent its use – report immediately to site foreman. Only those trained / qualified persons can use a specific piece of plant. When not in use – all keys to be removed. Check ground before using plant..
