[Audio] Revised format of the S475/1 subsidiary mathematics examination has been modified by the Uganda National Examinations Board, which is based on the Advanced Level Syllabus for 2020. It comprises two sections: Pure Mathematics and Statistics. The Pure Mathematics section involves matrices, linear programming, quadratics, indices, logarithms, surds, series, arithmetic progression, geometric progression, permutations and combinations, vectors, trigonometry, general angle, pythagorean identities, differentiation, derivative of a function, second derivative, curve sketching, maximum and minimum, displacement, velocity and acceleration, integration, definite and indefinite integrals, area under a curve and displacement, velocity and acceleration. The Statistics section includes types of data, organisation of data, measures of central tendency, measures of dispersion, moving averages, index numbers, scatter diagrams and correlation, probability theory, random variables, discrete random variables, binomial distribution, continuous random variables, normal distribution, and differential equations..
