Description. CILIP is a registered charitable welfare organization CILIP has its headquarters in a building purpose-constructed in 1965 as the head office of the Library Association.

CILIP’S MISSION. To allow its members to achieve and preserve the highest professional standards in all areas of delivering an information service both through professional and public wellbeing.

C ILIP’s learning provider accreditation is arranged to assist students to choose from information, library and archive career programmes that cover essential skills and knowledge, and have been harshly assessed.

All programmes are assessed using the Professional Knowledge and Skills Base (PKSB) tool which determines the core knowledge and skills of the profession.
