[Virtual Presenter] Good morning everyone, It is a pleasure to present the Certified E-Procurement Professional (CEPP) seminar. Scene 2 (21s)

[Audio] E-procurement is the purchase of goods and services through electronic means. It is an integral part of many corporate supply chains and is beneficial to businesses of all sizes due to its efficiency. The e-procurement process begins with sending an electronic message such as a request for quote or a solicitation of a vendor’s bid. Then, the supply chain manager reviews the various bids before selecting the vendor. After the selection, a purchase order or contract is generated and the delivery of goods and services takes place, followed by invoicing and payment of the vendor. Web-based vendor management systems can assist with streamlining the approval process. Other tools to enhance the e-procurement process include Request for Information, electronic bidding, electronic data interchange systems, and web-based inventory and order management systems. Through the use of technology, organizations can reduce costs, improve efficiency, and streamline the entire procurement process..
